Focus — Privacy Policy

🌿Our Privacy Commitment

Focus is a local-first app. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of our own. Your tasks, focus sessions, time, streaks and achievements are created and stored only on your device. We (the developer) never receive, see, or store your personal data.

The one exception is advertising: Focus shows a single ad when you open the app, served by Google AdMob. That service collects some data as described below — everything else stays on your phone.

📦What Stays on Your Device

The following is saved locally (in the app's private storage) and is never uploaded by us:

• The display name you choose during first-time setup
• Your task titles, optional due dates, focus counts and completion status
• Focus / free timer session history, including dates, durations and linked task labels
• Daily streaks, XP, levels and unlocked achievements
• App settings, such as timer durations, reminders, theme and ambient-sound preferences

This data lives inside the app only. Tapping Settings → Reset all data removes your tasks, session history, streaks, XP, achievements and in-app usage history. Your preferences remain until you change them or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes the app's locally stored data from your device.

📣Ads & Data Collected by Partners

Focus displays a single App Open ad through our own Google AdMob account (using our own ad unit). To show and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process:

• A device advertising identifier (Advertising ID)
• Approximate device information and IP address
• Ad interaction and diagnostics data (for delivery, fraud prevention and measurement)

This processing is handled by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner apps. We do not sell your data, and Focus contains no other ads, no analytics, and no tracking of its own.

🔐Permissions We Use

• Notifications — session-complete alerts, streak updates and the optional daily 10 AM motivation.
• Vibration — a short buzz when a timer session finishes.
• Internet — used to load the app-open ad and, when needed, download the app's rounded font. We do not transmit your tasks, sessions, settings or statistics to our own servers.

🧩Third-Party Services

Focus relies on the following Google services:

• Google AdMob — to display the single app-open ad. (Privacy Policy)
• Google Play Services — required by AdMob and used to fetch the app's downloadable font.

No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or cloud databases are used.

🧒Children's Privacy

Focus is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because ads are served by Google AdMob, we recommend the app for a general audience (teens and adults). If you believe a child has provided information through the advertising service, please review Google's Privacy Policy.

♻️Your Choices & Data Control

• Reset activity data — Settings → Reset all data clears your tasks, session history, streaks, XP, achievements and in-app usage history.
• Change preferences — adjust timer, notification, vibration, theme and sound preferences at any time in Settings.
• Uninstall — removes the app's locally stored data from your device.
• Ad personalization — manage or reset your Advertising ID in your device's system settings.

📝Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves (for example, if features change). When we do, we'll update the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Continued use of Focus after an update means you accept the revised policy.
